Coco Jam and Peanut Butter

litratongpinoy

Kelangan yung me buo-buong mani at mamantikang peanut butter ha (argh!)

Coco Jam, Peanut Butter and Bread for Breakfast

Coco jam, peanut butter and wheat bread are all from Pan de Manila. No, this is not a paid ad though a big white paper bag full of pandesal is very much welcome, lol.

Tidying Up After the Christmas Season

Have you tidied up already? Today is the last day of the Christmas season and tomorrow is going to be back to work and school for most people.

I am supposed to put down the Christmas tree today but I can’t. I have a swollen ankle and I can’t be up and about.

The house needs a lot of tidying up. The ceramic tiles need some scrubbing with soap to remove those sticky food leftovers that fell on it. The kitchen needs some a lot of cleaning. This library needs to be dusted.

Why I feel tired just thinking about how much cleaning I need to do I might end up looking for someone who will do this for me since I am not sure when I can be mobile effortlessly.

Sigh, what a way to start the year. I hope there is a hidden surprise after everything is well and good with my foot. My plans to go back to my morning walks is not gonna happen soon.

Grow Your Vegetable Garden

Growing one’s own vegetable garden is nothing new. With so many kinds of diseases that people get from food, it is no wonder some people have taken steps to ensure that they are eating fresh and pesticide-free produce.

That photo above is a part of the vegetable garden of a relative. In some parts of the garden there are beets, purple cabbages, lettuce and other greens planted.

They also have herbs planted in containers but are mostly placed in their garage.

Is a pond with ducklings koi, water lilies and pond pumps next in line?

Now, that is a great idea, methinks 😀

Home is Where the Heart Is

Steel heart. Bakal ng korteng puso.

That is a part of the iron grills of the front fence. I took this photo during the first week of the year with the colorful sunset sky as a backdrop.

This is kinda symbolic because I was inside and have been staying at home enjoying domesticity due to the longest vacation last year. My vision of the world outside maybe limited but I must admit I enjoyed spending these days at home.

Isn’t it that we always say, “HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS”?

Frugal Christmas

I have started a series of Frugal Christmas posts about personalized Christmas gift tags, being on the lookout for that “perfect” chocolate chip cookies recipe so I can bake these as as gifts and handmade paper stockings as tree ornaments.

I hope to feature more of the things/ideas that I want to do.

To further perk me up, I have decided to do the Weekly Question about Frugal Christmas ideas/practices.

Check out this New York Times article: No Job and Fewer Gifts

So the Weekly Question is:

What frugal or practical Christmas tips (does your family practice) that you can share to cut down on Christmas-related expenses but not necessarily sacrificing on quality?

My answer:
